BUSINESS GROWTH AT THUNDER FACTORY SPURS HEADQUARTERS
MOVE, EXPANSION INTO L.A. AND N.Y.
Integrated Marketing and Branding Specialists Brought on Board to Support
Rapidly Expanding Client Base, Drive New Business Development
SAN MATEO, CA (February 3, 2004) -- THUNDER FACTORY, the San Francisco Bay
Area-based integrated marketing firm dedicated to closing sales and driving
revenues for clients, announced that it has relocated its Bay Area headquarters
to accommodate rapid staff growth. The firm also announced that it has opened
offices in Los Angeles and New York. In addition, THUNDER FACTORY announced
the appointment of Eric Granof as Executive Vice President and Managing Director
for the Los Angeles operation, and Chris De Maria as Senior Vice President
and Managing Director of its new office in New York City.
“Clients have responded strongly to our fully integrated, results-driven
marketing approach, and we’ve grown steadily as a result,” said
Patrick Di Chiro, Chairman and CEO of THUNDER FACTORY. He cited new business
over the past year from AT&T Wireless, Fleetwood RV, McKesson Corporation
and San José State University, as well as expanding assignments from
Ameritrade, ZANTAZ and Loyola Marymount University, as the impetus for the
shop’s continuing expansion.
Granof joined THUNDER FACTORY following four years as a partner in the L.A.
office of Lippincott Mercer. A veteran in brand strategy, integrated marketing
and business development, he had previously held similar posts at Citigate
Bass Yager in Los Angeles, where he worked on major client accounts such as
Invesco, Exxon/Esso and AT&T. Granof also gained extensive branding experience
while at Interbrand in San Francisco, working on high profile accounts such
as HP, JAVA, Home Savings of America and Genentech.
De Maria comes to THUNDER FACTORY with more than 15 years of blue chip public
relations, marketing and special events experience. A seasoned marketing communications
professional, he recently served three years as VP of Communications for the
Women's Tennis Association. Prior to his WTA work, De Maria worked more than
a decade at Cohn & Wolfe, a leading international public relations agency,
where he served as a VP and Group Manager for some of C&W's leading corporate
clients, such as the US Postal Services, the Philip Morris Companies, BMW Automobiles,
the Olympic Torch Relay and the US Census Bureau, among others.
“We’re already working with great clients in Southern California
and New York, and talking with many more,” said Di Chiro.
“It became clear we needed to establish a presence in both
cities and bring in the experience, vision and leadership of professionals
like Eric and Chris.”
