Coherent Communication to the World’s Top Grad School Candidates
Stanford University engaged THUNDER FACTORY to bring coherence
to its communications with students who had been accepted into its
graduate school - but had not yet decided to attend. Previously,
prospective grad students received an assortment of unrelated pamphlets
and forms from various departments seeking to explain programs,
procedures and administrative requirements. The overall impression
was one of incoherence and confusion.
THUNDER FACTORY assembled all the necessary information, made it
reader-friendly and packaged it in a single, comprehensive guide
for incoming graduate students, designed to reflect the high standards
for which Stanford is known. Stanford reports that the brochure
has had a significant impact. Inquiries received by the Student
Affairs office showed students were more prepared and less confused
than in the past. Also, because the guide alerted international
students to visa procedures, the office was able to handle the stricter
processing requirements for international students in record time.
