Building McKessons's Business
Overview: With its 175-year history, McKesson Corporation is the most experienced and largest healthcare services company in the world. Its broad, comprehensive portfolio of products and services touches every aspect of the healthcare and pharmaceutical chain.

Business Challenge: While McKesson currently sits at number 18 on the Fortune 50, the McKesson brand still has relatively little awareness amongst most important audiences. Additionally, as the healthcare industry becomes more challenging and competitive, it has become increasingly vital to leverage the strengths of the McKesson brand to engage a wide range of stakeholders.

Solutions: As McKesson's integrated marketing firm of record, THUNDER FACTORY provides ongoing strategic counsel on everything from branding and marketing to website design and public relations. Some of our work includes the creation and implementation of comprehensive websites for the company's Health Mart Pharmacy and High Performance Pharmacy programs. We have also launched new products and services for McKesson, re-branded solutions, created proprietary brand names and executed national PR campaigns that have generated significant results.

Results: THUNDER FACTORY helped expand the Health Mart franchise from approximately 300 stores to over 1,300 stores in less than one year, with more than 650 prospects submitting requests via the website. Since the launch of the site in June 2006, over 10,000 consumers have found their local Health Mart pharmacy via the web. After just two months of focused search optimization efforts, monthly web visitor traffic more than doubled and continues to rise. Additionally, more than 350 pharmacy leaders have downloaded the McKesson High Performance Pharmacy study since the launch of that site in November 2006.
